A 27-year-old Mexican man was spotted trying to cross the border into the U.S. at Calexico, Calif., Sunday evening.
When the man saw U.S. Border Patrol approaching he wrapped a rope around his neck and dropped over the U.S. side, hanging himself, according to Border Patrol Agent Eduardo Jacobo.
An agent rushed to lifted his legs and stop him from choking. Another agent arrived and managed to undo the rope and the man fell to the ground.
One of the agents then managed to revive the man, who was not breathing.
An ambulance transported him to Calexico Regional Medical Centre, where he is expected to recover from his injuries.
