A producer for CNN was caught on a hot mic Dec. 1 joking about the plane carrying President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President-elect Mike Pence crashing (video below).
The incident occurred as national correspondent Suzanne Malveaux was preparing for a live broadcast from the Carrier plant in Indiana, Daily Mail reported.
An unidentified producer can be heard in the video off camera discussing some signals with Malveaux, who appears in the shot.
“That means his plane’s crashed,” the producer says at one point.

A CNN spokesperson issued a statement Dec. 2.
“An unfortunate and inappropriate remark was made by one of our producers off camera yesterday,” the representative said.

The network did not name the producer responsible.
“We have apologized to the Trump transition team, and the producer has been disciplined,” the spokesperson added.
The president-elect has yet to comment on the incident.
Trump has long had a tense relationship with CNN. During the election campaign he referred to it as “Clinton network news,” Business Insider reported.
At a closed-door meeting with media executives in late November, Trump reportedly targeted CNN head Jeff Zucker for criticism first.
“I hate your network, everyone at CNN is a liar and you should be ashamed,” Trump said, according to the New York Post.
CNN was not the only network targeted for criticism at the meeting.
“It was like a f***ing firing squad,” one source said of the meeting.
The meeting was off the record, with all participants agreeing not to discuss the details of what was said.
“Trump kept saying, ‘We’re in a room of liars, the deceitful, dishonest media who got it all wrong.’ He addressed everyone in the room, calling the media dishonest, deceitful liars,” another source said.
Speaking after the gathering, Trump spokeswoman Kellyanne Conway said the meeting with the press went well.
