Gov. Bobby Jindal's Second Inauguration to be Scaled Down

| by Michael Allen

Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal says that his second inauguration will be held at the Old State Capitol, which is smaller than his first swearing-in ceremony four years ago; that event was held at the current capitol building.

Gov. Jindal also says there won't be any events for the evening of his Jan. 9, 2012 inauguration, because they would conflict with football's national championship game, in which LSU is a heavy favorite to participate.

The last inauguration ceremony to be held at the Old State Capitol was for Republican Gov. Mike Foster in 1996. The building is set on a bluff near the Mississippi River, was built in 1852 and was replaced by the modern capitol in the 1930s.
