Governor Andrew Cuomo recently did an interview where he discussed the potential people who could become the next NYC mayor. It is not surprising that he shared his dislike for Congressman Anthony Weiner.

On Wednesday, Cuomo criticized Weiner, saying he has a right to run for office but voters should not give him a chance.

He was being interviewed by Stephen A. Rogers, chairman of Syracuse Media Group.

"It's basically democracy. Those are grownups (in the Assembly) who are picking, who pick their leader," Cuomo said.

Rogers said, "So if Anthony Weiner wants to run for mayor, he can run for mayor."

Cuomo affirmed, "He runs? He runs."

"And if we elect him?" Rogers asked.

"Shame on us," Cuomo said.

Weiner resigned two years ago after a scandal about him sending naked pictures of himself to women went public.

Cuomo isn't the only politician who believes Weiner shouldn't have a chance. Congressman Charlie Rangel said he doesn't think Weiner would win even if he tried.

"Only in America can we do these types of things," Rangel said. "Sanford did it in South Carolina, and then, there goes Anthony Weiner."

When asked if he thought Weiner could win, he said, "No, I don't think so."

Cuomo has been quite opinionated in recent weeks. He also criticized Khloe Kardashian for her "Rich Soil New York" t-shirts because the logo is similar to that used by the state's farm program.

The primary election for the NYC mayor is held on September 10. If Weiner manages to win a Democratic nomination, he will be in the general election on November 5.
