GOP Strategist Tells Anderson Cooper That Ted Cruz Is Just “Having Bunny Sex” (Video)

| by Sarah Fruchtnicht

CNN host Anderson Cooper said Republican commentator Alex Castellanos must be “high” after he made a strange analogy comparing Sen. Ted Cruz’s, R-Texas, bid to shutdown the government to “having bunny sex.”

“Anderson Cooper 360” on Tuesday night, Castellanos agreed with Democratic strategist Paul Begala miscalculated the shutdown strategy in his attempt to target Obamacare. Castellanos said it is a “terrible idea” to risk the full faith and credit of the federal government.

“A friend explained to me today, finally, what Ted Cruz is doing,” Castellanos said. “And I finally understand, he’s having bunny sex.”

“This is the late-night edition of 360,” Cooper joked.

“In nature, there are boom and bust cycles,” Castellanos explained. “The snowshoe hare, every ten years, multiplies six-fold.”

“Are you high?” Cooper asked. “What are you talking about?”

“I’m high. Let me explain, let me explain. I wish I was,” Castellanos laughed. “The snowshoe hare — I thought it’s a marvelous explanation — every ten years, multiplies six-fold. Bunnies like sex, apparently. But the boom produces a bust. They press their food supply, they invite predators.

“Right now, Ted Cruz, what’s he’s doing, feels good,” he explained. “He’s growing his supporters. It’s leading the Republican Party, I think, into a bust.”

“I think you’re digging a ditch, Alex,” Cooper pointed out.

“Ted Cruz just drove the entire Republican Party through a car wash in a convertible and everybody got wet but him,” Castellanos said.

“We got to take a break,” Cooper interrupted. “Gentlemen, thank you. Alex, I’m still trying to figure out what the bunny sex was about.”

“We’ll have a man-to-man talk later,” Castellanos chuckled.

“I definitely did not learn that in my class,” Cooper said.
