Ashley Judd is known as both an actress and a political activist, so it’s not that surprising that she is considering a Senate run next year in Kentucky against Republican Mitch McConnell. It’s also not surprising that the dark forces within politics have already mobilized and recently made a new ad mocking Judd and her past comments about Obama and Kentucky.
The super PAC American Crossroads—co-founded by Republican Karl Rove—funded an ad against Judd that says this: “Ashley Judd: An Obama-following radical, Hollywood liberal who is right at home here in Tennessee. I mean, Kentucky.”
Amongst other things, the ad uses clips of Judd saying that she is “aggressively and delightfully radical” and would “follow” Obama anywhere.
Unfortunately for Judd, Kentucky is a largely Republican state.
The ad from American Crossroads will run for another two weeks and cost a mere $10,000.
Judd was a delegate to the Democratic National Convention last summer and is very interested in the 2014 race because of her belief that the people of Kentucky “need a fighter.”
