Video: Glenn Beck and Rick Santorum Create Conspiracy Theories Over U.N. Treaty
Former Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum recently slammed the possible Senate ratification of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in an article for WND.com, in which he claimed it might somehow result in the death of his disabled daughter.
When Santorum appeared on Beck's radio show yesterday, they both concocted wild conspiracy theories.
Beck said that the section of the U.N Treaty that read "Children with disabilities shall be registered immediately after birth" sounded "really Orwellian or, quite honestly, fascistic from the Nazi days."
Beck failed to mention that Article 24 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, which was ratified in 1976 under President Ford, says "Every child shall be registered immediately after birth and shall have a name. Every child has the right to acquire a nationality," reports RightWingWatch.org.
As he did in his article, Santorum slammed this part of the U.N. treaty: In all actions concerning children with disabilities, the best interests of the child shall be a primary consideration.
Santorum said: "The government is going to decide what is in the best interests of your child. As opposed to disability laws in this country that say 'No, it is the parent's prerogative to determine what is in the best interests of the child and they are only removed of that prerogative if they are proven to be through a judicial process incapable of protecting their child's interests.' Now, the presumption is the state knows better than you."
"There's a Section 4 that talks about the rights that the government owes citizens with disabilities. As you know Glenn, our rights are negative rights in this country... this now turns in on its head with these positive rights... where the Marxists. socialists, progressives... want to have the government in a position where they are extending rights and the government ...has alot more operational control of your lives."

Again, go re-learn english. For the non-insane, let me break that down: In all actions concerning children with disabilities, the best interests of the child shall be a primary consideration. That means, when WE do something, WE will have to take the best interests of the child into consideration. THATS IT, YOU FREAKING MORON.
TL;DR: Santorum should have his legs broken at the knees so he can develop some empathy.
