The Facebook group, “Bowe Bergdahl is NOT a Hero,” which was created last Saturday, has been slamming the American prisoner of war (POW) who was held by the Taliban for five years.
Over the weekend, the Obama administration swapped five Taliban prisoners in exchange for Bergdahl.
Greg Leatherman, the creator of the Facebook group, was one of Bergdahl’s squad leaders, reports CNN.
Leatherman also started a WhiteHouse.gov petition that calls on President Obama to "punish Bowe Bergdahl for walking off base with intent to not support the War On terror. Bowe Bergdahl broke several Articles under the Uniform Code of Military Justice and needs to be punished not rewarded."

Former half-term Alaska Governor and Fox News commentator Sarah Palin jumped on the bandwagon today, and attacked the POW and President Obama for bringing him home.
Palin is furious over emails sent by Bergdahl to his parents, which were published in a 2012 Rolling Stone article.
In his emails, Bergdahl recalled that he was told by U.S. Army recruiters that he would be going overseas to help Afghans rebuild their lives and learn to defend themselves, which he said was a "deception."
Bergdahl also told his parents about the incompetency of his squad leaders.

"We were given a fictitious picture, an artificially created picture of what we were doing in Afghanistan," wrote Bergdahl. "In the US army you are cut down for being honest... but if you are a conceited brown nosing s--- bag you will be allowed to do what ever you want, and you will be handed your higher rank... The system is wrong."
"I am ashamed to be an american," added Bergdahl. "And the title of US soldier is just the lie of fools. The US army is the biggest joke the world has to laugh at. It is the army of liars, backstabbers, fools, and bullies. The few good SGTs are getting out as soon as they can, and they are telling us privates to do the same."
Some Afghans were actually abused by some U.S. forces in 2012, when Bergdahl wrote his email, noted the Daily Mail and The Washington Post. There was also drug abuse by U.S. troops in Afghanistan, reported NBC News.
Palin wrote today on Facebook:
No, Mr. President, a soldier expressing horrid anti-American beliefs – even boldly putting them in writing and unabashedly firing off his messages while in uniform, just three days before he left his unit on foot – is not "honorable service." Unless that is your standard.
Please use your White House Rose Garden to praise the truly honorable service of our good U.S. troops who were killed in their search for Sgt. Bergdahl. Praise the soldiers who fought with everything they had to defeat Islamic terrorists, those whom you just freed from prison. Our men gave all. Our surviving combat vets will forever live with the effects of the missions they willingly engaged in to protect you, our country, and certainly their brothers and sisters who are proud to wear the uniform.
You blew it again, Barack Obama, by negotiating away any leverage against the bad guys as these bad guys – Osama Bin Laden's partners in evil crime – joyfully celebrate their "win" in the deal you sealed.
