This week, MSNBC's Chris Hayes and Martin Bashir discussed the brutal attack of British soldier Lee Rigby in London at the hands of two men who dismembered Rigby with knives in the name of “Almighty Allah" (video below).

Even though one of the attackers suggested the murder was in response to British military action and said "remove your governments," Hayes insisted the two men were "just murderers.”

“They may say that they’re some affiliate of something, these are just murderers,” said Hayes, reported Mediaite.com.

Hayes expressed a greater concern that this type of an attack would continue to fuel an endless "war on terror" by the U.S., but said that the London and Boston attacks do not “require us to be in a perpetual state of war.”

However, British authorities are calling the attack in London a "barbaric act of terrorism," reports WEAR-TV.

One of the men, carrying a bloody butcher knife, approached an onlooker with a video camera and said: "We swear by the Almighty Allah we will never stop fighting you until you leave us alone ... We must fight them as they fight us. An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. I apologize that women had to see this today but in our lands our women have to see the same."

"You people will never be safe. Remove your governments. They don't care about you. Do you think David Cameron is gonna get caught in the streets when we start busting our guns? Do you think the politicians are gonna die? No, it's gonna be the average guy, like you."

Both of the suspects were shot and wounded by London police, and are currently in a hospital.
