Hillary Clinton Hospitalized with Blood Clot

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has been admitted to New York-Presbyterian Hospital with a blood clot, reports the BBC.

Earlier this month, Clinton suffered a concussion after fainting and falling down.

Doctors discovered the blood clot during a follow-up examination Sunday in New York City, her spokesman Philippe Reines said.

Clinton is being treated with anti-coagulants and will remain in the hospital for the next 48 hours so that doctors can monitor her.

Reines said that Clinton is expected back at her desk next week.

Clinton is scheduled to appear before a Congressional committee on January 10 in connection with the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya.

Some conservatives such as former U.S. Ambassador John Bolton have suggested that Clinton faked her concussion to avoid testifying about Benghazi.
