The FBI’s investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server while she was secretary of state has taken another turn, Fox News reports. The agency is now reportedly looking into the presidential candidate’s public charity, the Clinton Foundation.
Three anonymous sources told Fox News that as the FBI’s investigation into Clinton’s email server broadened into a deeper look at her tenure as secretary of state, it discovered evidence that her position in both entities may have been used inappropriately.
“The agents are investigating the possible intersection of Clinton Foundation donations, the dispensation of State Department contracts and whether regular processes were followed,” an unnamed source said.
Another source said “many previous public corruption cases have been made and successfully prosecuted with much less evidence than what is emerging in this investigation.”

Clinton has denied that the FBI is investigating the Clinton Foundation, although the agency is not required to have informed her of this development.
It is important to note the FBI has given no official confirmation it is investigating the Clinton Foundation.
Whether or not the FBI’s continued investigation into the former secretary of state impacts her presidential prospects, Republican front-runner Donald Trump is welcoming the controversy.
“If you get the nomination, you can’t have the person that gets the nomination be sued like Hillary might be sued,” Trump said during a Jan. 11 New Hampshire rally, Politico reports.

Trump then added that he would welcome the FBI derailing Clinton’s campaign so he can compete against her Democratic rival, Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont. “Please FBI, please go after Hillary. I wanna run against Bernie!”
Adding more fuel to the Clinton controversy is political pundit Mark Halperin’s revelation on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" on Jan. 11 that the FBI had found an email interaction between her and her foreign policy adviser Jake Sullivan that showed “a cavalier attitude about handling of classified information,” according to The Daily Caller.
Halperin said that this email “is one of the most significant developments and makes it more likely than it’s ever been that she and or Jake Sullivan will be asked to speak to the FBI, maybe go before a grand jury ... imagine the implications of that.”
