Former CIA Director Quits Trump's Transition Team

| by Ray Brown

Former CIA Director James Woolsey cut his ties with President-elect Donald Trump's transition team.

“Effective immediately, Ambassador Woolsey is no longer a Senior Advisor to President-Elect Trump or the Transition. He wishes the President-Elect and his Administration great success in their time in office,” Jonathan Franks, a spokesman for Woolsey, said in a statement, according to The Washington Post.

Woolsey told CNN that his decision to leave Trump's team has nothing to do with the president-elect's skepticism about intelligence reports accusing the Russian government of hacking the Democratic National Committee's emails.

"I didn't want to fly under false colors," Woolsey said, according to CNN. "I'm not really functioning as an adviser anymore, and so when I'm on the screen, everybody announces that I'm former CIA director and that I'm a Trump adviser. And I'm really not anymore. So I just thought I should strike that from the (TV banner) ... so nobody was under false impressions."

This young teenage singer was shocked when Keith Urban invited her on stage at his concert. A few moments later, he made her wildest dreams come true.

He added: "I didn't want to be claiming that I'm something I'm not."

Woolsey, an outspoken critic of President Barack Obama and who served as the CIA chief under former President Bill Clinton, joined the Trump campaign in September 2016.

"Mr. Trump's commitment to reversing the harmful defense budget cuts signed into law by the current administration, while acknowledging the need for debt reduction, is an essential step toward reinstating the United States' primacy in the conventional and digital battlespace," Woolsey said in a statement at the time, according to CNN. "Mr. Trump understands the magnitude of the threats we face and is holding his cards close to the vest."
