Claim: Trump Changed Hair Color For SCOTUS Announcement

| by Michael Doherty

As President Donald Trump announced Neil Gorsuch as his pick for the U.S. Supreme Court, some observers say they noticed that something had changed about Trump: his hair color.

Trump's hair appeared to have changed in shade from its previous intense yellow to a milder, beige dirty blond tone, Us Weekly reports. Trump's unusual hairstyle and color was a source of jokes from pundits throughout his presidential campaign, and the president's supporters on social media cheered the new, more conservative color choice.

"Thank you President Trump for selecting a new shade of hair color than the canary yellow!" wrote one Twitter user after the president announced Gorsuch as his choice on Jan. 31 in a televised event.

Trump said he hoped that Democrats and Republicans would "come together" to confirm Gorsuch, saying the federal appellate judge's qualifications were "beyond dispute."

Gorsuch's nomination is notable after Justice Antonin Scalia's death, when Republicans reportedly blocked then-President Barack Obama's Supreme Court nominee, Merrick Garland, from being confirmed for nearly a year, leaving the court with only eight justices for months, reports Newsmax.

Gorsuch's confirmation promises to be controversial, as some Democrats reportedly plan to block Gorsuch's confirmation the way that Republicans blocked that of Garland.

Not everyone was impressed with Trump's alleged new dye job, with some on social media continuing to joke about the president's hair.

"Did anyone just notice Trump's absurd new hair color?" asked one Twitter user during the announcement.

Trump's hair has been a trademark since his time on reality show "The Apprentice," where stylist Amy Lasch worked on his hair. Lasch said that before she began working with Trump, his dye job was a "calamity."

"The color was so inconsistent," said Lasch. "It was not done correctly. They just colored the top and did not color what was underneath properly. It was someone in his inner circle who was cutting and coloring his hair. His wife or maybe his daughter."

Amid speculation that Trump's hair is a toupee or other kind of artificial hair, the 70-year-old has insisted the hair is his own.

"If it really pours, that’s OK because people will realize it’s my real hair," Trump reportedly joked before his inauguration, after reported that it would rain during the proceedings.
