The British parliament is set to debate a proposal to ban U.S. presidential candidate and real estate mogul Donald Trump from the U.K.

The debate comes following a petition that was signed by more than 500,000 U.K. citizens calling for the GOP frontrunner to be banned for his racially and religiously charged rhetoric.

“The UK has banned entry to many individuals for hate speech. The same principles should apply to everyone who wishes to enter the UK,” the petition read.

“If the United Kingdom is to continue applying the ‘unacceptable behaviour’ criteria to those who wish to enter its borders, it must be fairly applied to the rich as well as poor, and the weak as well as powerful.”

The popularity of the petition led to Parliament taking notice, once it hit 100,000 signatures. Politicians in the U.K. are divided, however, on whether or not Trump should be banned.

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn said he doesn’t think he should banned, and instead invited him to visit a local mosque.

Trump reportedly threatened to cancel hundreds of millions in investments in parts of the U.K. if he’s banned.
