Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson said that he would pick a Supreme Court justice based on the "fruit salad of their life" during the GOP debate on Feb. 25 (video below).

“As president, I would go through and I would look at what a person’s life has been, what have they done in the past, what kind of judgments have they made, what kind of association do they have," Carson told CNN host Wolf Blitzer.

"That will tell you a lot more than an interview will tell you," Carson added. "The fruit salad of their life is what I will look at."

RawStory.com noted that Carson was thoroughly mocked on Twitter.

"The greatest neurosurgeon alive, perhaps in history," one user wrote. "Let's please end the 'doctors are smart' meme."

"'The Fruit Salad Of Their Life' It's over, we have our next President," another tweeted. "Everyone can go home. #GOPDebate"

"I will never stop saying '____ is the fruit salad of their life,'" one user remarked. "It's easily the Shucky Ducky of this campaign season #GOPDebate"

"Fruit salad of their life?" another wrote. "Was that really said?"

Carson made a similar remark earlier this month when addressing reports that the campaign staff of Republican Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas may have cost Carson votes in Iowa, noted TIME.

“By their fruit you will know them," Carson stated. "That was the Sermon on the Mount. And it was in the context when Jesus said there are some people who aren’t what they seem to be, who say one thing and do another. But you can always tell who they are by their fruit.”
