'We Are Now Starting A Nuclear Arms Race': Ben Carson Slams Iran Deal

| by Sean Kelly

In an interview on NBC’s "Meet the Press," Republican presidential candidate and neurosurgeon Ben Carson called the Iran nuclear deal “the worst deal in the history of America.”

Carson said during the interview the deal didn’t have any accountability, verification or enforcement.

“We don’t have any of those things in any reasonable way here,” he said. “We’ve not stopped anything, except we are now starting a nuclear arms race in the region. It is perhaps the worst deal in the history of America.”

Carson voiced similar sentiments during a recent campaign stop at the Des Moines Farmers Market in Iowa. There, he said President Barack Obama didn’t push hard enough during negotiations.

“Unless we can have full access, 24/7, anytime, any day, there’s nothing to negotiate,” he said.

According to a recent poll, Ben Carson is tied with Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida for fourth place in the 2016 GOP presidential nomination race. Donald Trump, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker are all ahead of him, The Washington Times reported.
