Live Action, an anti-abortion group headed by activist Lila Rose, recently released some undercover videos (below) of abortion clinics, which the group compared to the one in which Dr. Kermit Gosnell worked.
“The gruesome and inhuman practices exposed in Gosnell’s ‘House of Horrors’ are business as usual for the abortion industry in America,” Rose said in a statement, per the New York Times.
The Live Action operatives asked hypothetical questions of medical personnel in the clinics, who were not aware they were being recorded.
In one video, a Live Action female operative asked Washington D.C. doctor Cesare Santangelo hypothetically what he would do if she gave birth after an unsuccessful abortion.
Popular VideoThis young teenage singer was shocked when Keith Urban invited her on stage at his concert. A few moments later, he made her wildest dreams come true.
"Technically, you know, legally we would be obligated to help it, you know, to survive. But, you know, it probably wouldn’t. It’s all in how vigorously you do things to help a fetus survive at this point," Dr. Santangelo says.
"Let’s say you went into labor, the membranes ruptured, and you delivered before we got to the termination part of the procedure here, you know? Then we would do things, we would, we would not help it. We wouldn’t intubate. It would be, you know, uh, a person, a terminal person in the hospital, let’s say, that had cancer, you know? You wouldn’t do any extra procedures to help that person survive. Like ‘do not resuscitate’ orders. We would do the same things here.”
However, during an interview with Washington Post, Dr. Santangelo said that he was actually trying to reassure the woman.
"What I said is, basically I wouldn’t do anything extraordinary,” said Dr. Santangelo. “We would call EMS. We would call 911. But I wouldn’t do intubation or anything. . . . You let nature take its course.”
Live Action claims that many abortion doctors are willing to kill live babies in violation of the Born-Alive Infants Protection Act of 2002, a law that requires doctors to save any baby who is born during a failed abortion.
Another video shows an unidentified worker in Dr. Emily Women’s Health Center in the Bronx stating that the clinic would put the baby in a jar of “solution” that would cause it to stop breathing.
Marjana Banzil, director of the Dr. Emily Women’s Health Center, said last Friday that any employee who would say such a thing was misinformed.
