Video: Disgruntled Obama Supporter Actually Republican Staffer Bettina Inclan

article image

In an attempt to sway undecided voters to vote for Romney, the Republican National Committee has released an ad featuring a woman "breaking up" with Obama and listing reasons why it isn't working out.

The woman is supposed to be a "frustrated former Obama supporter," according to Talking Points Memo. However, the woman is actually an RNC staffer.

Bettina Inclan is the Director of Hispanic Outreach for the Republican National Committee. The ad suggests she voted for Obama in 2008 when she's quoted saying, "you're just not the person I thought you were." Yet Inclan worked in Republican politics before the 2008 elections.

--------------------------

In the ad, Inclan says to a cardboard cutout of Obama that "it's not me, it's you. I think we should just be friends." She lists out-of-control spending and Obama's tendency to hang out with celebrities as reasons for the break up.

The ad ends by asking viewers to share why they want to break up with Obama.

The RNC says the ad is not dishonest or misleading.

"It's a lighthearted ad to show how millions of Americans feel about President Obama - he's not the person we thought he was and it's time to break up with him," an official said. "But let's be clear, it's an ad."

Inclan accepted her current position in the RNC in January 2012, but also did Hispanic outreach for Rick Scott's 2010 Florida race, worked on Capitol hill for Rep. Lincoln Diaz-Balart and Rep. Thaddeus McCotter, and as a national director of the Republican National Hispanic Assembly.

She explained that her Republican outlook came naturally in life.

"I was never pressured to be a Republican, but I am very much a fiscal conservative," she said. "It might be because we were alwas on a very tight budget growing up. Or maybe my views of the world fall in line with the Republican party."

Capturing the attention of undecided or independent voters has become a large strategy in the Republican campaign. Americans for Prosperity has created several ads featuring independents who voted for Obama in 2008, but will not vote for him in 2012.

The interesting part of all

The interesting part of all of this is that the GOP has far more in common with the Old Soviet Union, than they have in common with the "Christian values" (as told in the Christ myth) that they keep talking about having.

By their standards, Christ was a socialist. They are certainly not the "party of God" that their Jesus would have approved of.

I guess it is more proof that, not only are they traitors to our nation, but that their devil has them convinced that he's God and God is their devil.

But now, NOW,...you pesky media people have blown her cover, possibly ruining her infiltration of the GOP ranks: how horrible! BTW, this is cheesecake compaed to liberal dirty tricks, but who knows, maybe she was liberal, recanted, got offered a GOP job, then had hopes for Obama after all, then (sniffle) had her hopes dashed as he turned out to be "all fluff & no substance."

WHAT A LOAD OF RIGHT WING

WHAT A LOAD OF RIGHT WING CRAP!!!

There is nothing in there that has not already been long disproven and fact-checked.

The President is right. The guy who built a business DOES need others to make that business work. From the guy that sweeps the floors and does the books to the people doing the "nuts and bolts" of whatever business they do to the people that built the roads, pay their taxes and/or provide police and fire protection, educate their employees so that they can work for you.

If you are going to allow idiots like that to throw around words like "Marxist", "Fascist", "Socialist" or "Communist", then the least that person can do is to ACTUALLY KNOW THE MEANINGS OF THOSE WORDS, not just the misuse of them by undereducated liars who cater to the lowest educated, most gullible people, and they should use them correctly and in proper context.

This video has all of the disingenuous lies and deceptions that are the hallmark of the current, extremist run GOP/tea party and should be relegated to it's proper place right up next to the lies that Goebbels' propaganda machine spewed to the German people under Hitler.

Lies may win in the short term, but in the end, they WILL catch up to you.

Yeah like the other

Yeah like the other underhanded comments he made during that speech as well, you are just another stooge who believes in your own rhetoric as well as theirs. Perhaps you need to understand the meanings of those words and the continuance of pushing those beliefs onto the American Public.

Who do you think pays those people who sweep those floors or pays the taxes for those firemen and police? If not those businessmen and women who pay much more in taxes than most of Americans. Since 45-50% of Americans don't pay taxes I wouldn't say that business owners are ignorant of what Obama said in his speech which he plagiarized from Elizabeth Warren: who said the same thing

“No, there is nobody in this country who got rich on his own. Nobody. You built a factory out there? Good for you, but I wanna be clear, you moved your goods to market on the roads the rest of us paid for. You hired workers the rest of us paid to educate. You were safe in your factory because of police forces and fire forces that the rest of us paid for. You didn’t have to worry that murauding bands would come and seize everything at your factory, and hire someone to protect against this, because of the work the rest of us did. Now look, you built a factory and it turned into something terrific, or a great idea, God bless, keep a good hunk of it, but part of the underlying social contract is you take a hunk of that and pay forward for the next gent who comes along.”

Speaking of uneducated catering to whom do you think the Democrats cater? They push the idea of a world pushed back into the 1940's ideals of women with no say in Government or health care and business, they push the idea that the Government will all of sudden overturn 40 year old court cases, yeah that is some educated thinking.

Raptorcat's picture

Are you that out of touch

Are you that out of touch with reality?

Who pays the people to do those jobs? It is the CUSTOMER. the business owner just handles the money. My grandfather, an OLD SCHOOL republican, who DID start his own business (sold it when he retired and it is still in business), told me that lesson.

The ones not paying their taxes are the major corporations. Have you taken a look at what the major corporations that are showing record profits are paying? How about the fact that those same companies are not only paying nothing in taxes, after record profits, but getting OUR tax dollars in rebates every year.

Oh, yeah, and your hero, Romney pays only 13%. That is a lower tax break than any of us get. You think that's the right thing to do? I doubt that you have the basic mathematical skills to figure out how wrong that is, nor have you demonstrated the grasp of our own nation's history; more specifically, the words of our founders, to understand how wrong your position is.

So keep sucking up to the folks who don't believe in fact-checking. Go ahead and vote for them, because when they screw you over for it, as they will if these tyrants ever take the final reigns of power, then you will only have yourself to blame.

Remember that things like minimum wage, the 8 hour work day, the 5 day work week, overtime, the end of child labor, the right to vote, practice whatever religion one wishes, without interference from other religions, the right to travel, privacy, and other things that we all take for granted, INCLUDING OWNING OUR OWN BUSINESSES, if we have the wherewithal to do so, is based on a "liberal idea", called the US Constitution.

As far as taking this country back to the 1940's take another look at the FACTS.

It has been the REPUBLICANS, not the Democrats, that have been fighting to suppress women and minority voters, removing equal pay for equal work (which the DEMOCRATS have championed).

It has been the Republicans who have the most to gain from voter disenfranchisement and who are ACTIVELY DOING SO.

When you have to change the rules to favor you in order to win, then your ideas suck.

When you have to lie to win, then your ideas suck.

When you propose ideas that have already proven to not work, as a solution to the problem created by those same ideas, then your ideas suck.

DO YOUR DAMNED HOMEWORK.

Sir, though I respect this fact (if it is true), does it give you pause or concern or do you wonder why the VAST MAJORITY of other veterans are NOT liberals?

As Rev. William T. Cummings, a veteran himself stated, "There are no atheists in foxholes." This should give you pause for thought, analysis, and contemplation.

And please don't explain to me how dems are of the faith with their promotion of abortion, same sex marriage, and the latest removal of God and Jerusalem from their platform (if only for a short time). God Bless and I pray He imbues you with His wisdom!

Carolandv,

It's worth nothing that Rev. Cummings was absolutely incorrect: there were, and are, many, *many* atheists in foxholes, and proud of it (one being me).

For example:

http://www.militaryatheists.org/expaif.html

http://ffrf.org/outreach/atheists-in-foxholes/

Our country and military are independent of and separate from religion: one of our most dearly held fundamental beliefs is indeed freedom of religion, but not freedom to oppress others with your religion. And freedom *from* religion is just as important.

Religion, much like many other institutions can be a force for good or a force for evil, as thousands of years of history have shown.

And you can't even quote the

And you can't even quote the portions where that is indicated.

Nice try Mr Goebbels, but you failed in the truth litmus test.

Besides, the abortion issue is like religion.....it is a personal and religious one. There is actually nothing in the Bible about it, no matter what the Christo-fascists claim. Certainly Jesus never said anything about it and the Christ myth IS what Christianity is supposedly based on.

And because it is a religious and personal issue, the government needs to stay out of it. The last time religion and politics were mixed, millions of innocent people were killed by the governments that did the mixing. The religion-based killing still goes on in countries that continue to mix religion with politics.....or perhaps you haven't heard of Sharia law.

Our founders established the 1st amendment to PREVENT that from happening here, yet idiots, like yourself, want to ignore their greater wisdom and repeat the mistakes of the past instead of learning from them.

Like I, and others, have said before; if you insist on lying, at least make it a lie that is not so easy to fact check.

carolandv's picture

Raptorcat: Please "fact

Raptorcat:

Please "fact check" this--"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion,or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..."--1st Amendment.

This means that America cannot establish a "Church of America" (like the King of England did) or impede others from practicing the religion of their choice the way they want to practice it...now what part of FORCING Christians to fund the abortion of others (which IS AGAINST the commandment "Thou shall not kill!")is not abusing the 1st amendment rights of all Christians?

So many libs like to talk about the 1st Amendment and "separation of church and state" because it is all-inclusive and convenient for the liberal cause ("And because it is a religious and personal issue, the government needs to stay out of it.") People have no amendment mandate to "do" or "not do" anything (ONLY the government is told what they CANNOT do), so your statement above is without merit.

As an afterthought...Sharia law (a part of Muslim law) is NOT a religion but a political idealogy...it is offensive to group Sharia/Muslims with the Christian faith, Jewish faith, and others.

I wouldn't be the one (as you did) to say you're an "idiot" or say you "insist on lying", but you do need a bit of education...time to get on it! God Bless!

Raptorcat's picture

Unlike you, I DO

Unlike you, I DO fact-check.

The 1st amendment also means that the government may not make any laws based on a singular religious view. Unlike you, I have actually studied and spoken with constitutional scholars on the subject of our Constitution. As a veteran, I want to understand what I am defending, unlike you, who is clearly a career civilian and/or too religious to do real homework.

Laws that are "faith-based" are violations of that 1st amendment as they violate that separation because they are based in a singular religious view. The efforts to add the PROVEN RELIGIOUS BELIEF in creationism or intelligent design or whatever euphemism they are choosing to use these days, is a RELIGIOUS view and already factually proven to not be science. KEEP IT OUT OF THE PUBLIC SCHOOLS. Likewise with prayers, unless you are going to have every religion do their prayers in school (it may take quite a bit out of the school day with the length of Muslim prayers and Pagan circles). The only place religion has in our public school systems is in COMPARATIVE RELIGIONS CLASSES, where the different beliefs are examined, compared and discussed, but not enacted. I had one in school and it was very enlightening. Things such as the ADDITION of the words "under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance, is ALSO a violation of that 1st amendment. Our national motto is NOT "In God We Trust", it is "E Pluribus Unum" (Out of/From Many, One). The phrase is Latin, btw. Interesting language, if you bother to learn any of it. People like you would unite this nation under the cross, but that cross costs dearly to those that do not choose to bend their will to it's false prophets.

History has shown that and our Founders knew it, too. That is why the 1st amendment exists and was ratified the same year as our Constitution. They did not want to repeat the mistakes of Europe. Mistakes that you are very willing to repeat.

Your understanding of Constitutional law and American history is, very clearly, limited by your religious views. Unlike you, I have sworn an oath to defend that Constitution, just like USMCVET has, as well as MILLIONS of others who have served and still serve and have died serving this nation and it's Constitution. Many served it even before they had the rights that you take for granted; blacks and women for example, who did not have the same rights as white men did during the revolution, the War of the Rebellion or even as recently as the first part of Vietnam.

Unlike your bible, our Constitution IS a living document, which is why we have amendments and can make them (or repeal them -such as prohibition- when they fail to serve our liberties). Thanks to those LIBERAL ideas, you have a right to vote, to have an education, to speak your mind, to get equal pay for equal work and a host of other things that you quite clearly seem to oppose, even for yourself.

You must be a Christian as your view of history is very limited.

The Church of England (Episcopalians, here in the US was established by Henry VIII as one of the PROTESTANT religions in response to the Pope refusing to grant him a divorce. Prior to that he was called, as part of his official title, "Defender of the faith" for his efforts in support (both civilly and militarily) Catholicism.

And remember that the 1st amendment, like our Declaration of Independence and our Constitution and it's amendments IS A LIBERAL IDEA.

So while you are bashing "Liberals", remember that your rights exist BECAUSE of liberal ideas.

Maybe the conservative mouthpiece, Ann Coulter, is at least partly right; SOME women ARE too stupid to vote. Would you prefer that we removed that LIBERAL right from you, since you oppose all things considered liberal? Don't answer that: Just think about it. You are given the opportunity to become educated, but the fact that you have failed to avail yourself of that right, properly, is very telling about your position and it's serious weaknesses.

Idiots like you who try to use that kind of logic to justify the continued taking of life for reasons other than medical or extreme cases is just as ridiculous, there are too many other options in this country to justify abortion as birth control and the targeting of minorities by Planned Parenthood and other such groups is ignored in order to continue to justify its existence. Since there have been a dozen or more Democratic political commercials in which DNC, DSCC, CREEP, and other Democratic political staffers pretended to be Republicans that is just tit for tat.

The important thing is that the employment participation rate is the lowest since Carter was president:

Nearly four million people a year are forced to retire because they cannot find jobs:

Not counting those forced to retire, the actual unemployment rate before "adjustments" is 14.6 percent:

The average middle class family's take home pay has dropped by almost 10% since January 2009:

The Obama economy "created" 90,000 jobs last month, mostly to replace retirees, and that is 70,000 short of that needed to maintain a stable workforce:

Internationally, cost of food has increased 10% in a month and continues to rise:

The cost of energy has increased by 25%, and is increasing almost by the week:

And your family is facing a $3,500 increase in your Federal taxes because Willy Clinton's tax increases are being reimposed.

Now, are you better off than you were four years ago? Do you think you will be better off four years from now? Do you think your children will be better off than you are?

If you answered yes to any of these questions - you are fooling yourself.

No but we have had negative job growth under Obama and his Stimulus package cost more middle income jobs while creating lower income jobs. If you are going to create jobs it would have helped had he at least managed to keep the high income and not the low.

REALLY?

When? Provide us a link to the story. Considering the coverage that Romney has gotten in this election, you would think that this story would have hit the blogosphere or that Romney would have used it to his advantage by now.

So why hasn't anyone but you heard that story?

I hope the media will introduce this New Tokyo Rose to all America, especially to Hispanic Americans. As long as I can remember I have hoped the RNC would run a Presidential campaign without embarrassing the USA internationally with Nazi propaganda techniques and appealing to the worse in human beings. The RNC even perverts 2000 years of Christianity and it's members accept it with a wink & a nod. What is wrong with these people?

Z57's picture

Americans have absolutely no

Americans have absolutely no idea what is happening!

So read this Obama has signed ..... . 923 Executive Orders in 40 months

ORDER 10990 allows the government to take over all modes of transportation and control of highways and seaports.

EXECUTIVE ORDER 10998 allows the government to take over all food resources and farms.

EXECUTIVE ORDER 11000 allows the government to mobilize civilians into work brigades under government supervision

EXECUTIVE ORDER 11921 allows the Federal Emergency Preparedness Agency to develop plans to establish control over the mechanisms of production and distribution, of energy sources, wages, salaries, credit and the flow of money in U.S. financial institution in any undefined national emergency. It also provides that when a state of emergency is declared by the President, Congress cannot review the action for six months.

For example, EO 13603 enables Barack Obama to take total control over all food, all energy, all health resources and all transportation resources with the stroke of a pen. Even if he feels his job is threatened. Claims executive authority to seize all US resources and persons, including during peacetime, for self-declared “national defense.”

Against the U.S. Consitution the Military can be used against American Citizens. In violation Of Consitiutional Law.

Did you know....under a new provisions in the National Defense Authorization Act the federal government could lock you up indefinitely if you are suspected of activities that they consider terrorism related. That’s right the military will now have the power to lock up anyone, even American citizens without due process and without being convicted of a crime.

Due process no longer lives in the U.S. Silly as it sounds... If you have more than 7 days worth of food.. You can be classified as a potential threat to National Security.

I have said enough for now. Research it all.

stillskies's picture

...Where did you get your

...Where did you get your numbers? Because if he signed 923 he would have signed more than any president ever. Also, any executive orders he's signed start with 13. The end of the 10s and the end of the 11s would have been Kennedy and Ford, respectively. So, unless you are simply pointing out EOs that you disagree with (and should then have phrased it in such a way so as to not lead to confusion), you are incorrect in your assertions.

According to http://www.archives.gov/federal-register/executive-orders/disposition.html, Obama has signed a total of 134 EOs. Bush II signed 290. Clinton signed 363.

As for EO13603, it is actually building upon EO 11858, May 7, 1975; EO 12472, April 3, 1984; EO 12656, November 18, 1988.

I understand wanting to argue things and back them up with facts, but please ensure that your facts are correct, lest things like this happen.

Still drinking the kool-aide,

Still drinking the kool-aide, I see.

No one but the Republicans are wanting hand-outs. The rest of us want a hand UP after 8 years of the Republicans knocking the AMERICAN PEOPLE down to benefit the ultra rich.

The red states gain the most from tax dollars, yet they produce the least in tax dollars, so WHO, again is asking for hand-outs?

Where's Romney's tax returns? He turned over 1 year and a partial only. His Father started the trend by producing 12 years of tax records, so clearly, he is not his father's son.

As far as you misogynistic and homophobic rant, all that ANY OF THOSE FOLKS WANT IS TO BE TREATED THE SAME AS YOU.

Is equality really that hard for you to comprehend? None of them are asking for SPECIAL protection, just EQUAL protection.

If you are Black, Hispanic, Irish or Asian, then you would understand. All of those groups went through periods of being the victims of prejudice in this country. At one time, some of those times overlapping, there were signs that said "Whites only" or "no Chinese" or "no Irish"/"Irish need not apply".

You have made it very clear that you want to return to the past, well I studied the past and I am here to tell you that the "good old days" were not the "leave it to Beaver" wonderful world that you think it was.

The only past that is worth returning to is what our founders wanted for this nation; a nation where ALL people could be free from oppression, could make their own way without an intrusive governance, free from religious persecution.

Government as your party wants, is smaller and more intrusive than any government since the dark ages, when the church ruled over even the kings of Europe.

The rest of us want a government that is big enough to do it's job of insuring our freedoms, providing for our common defense and promoting the general welfare of the people; ALL of the people, not just the ones that some extremist religious/political cult wants to protect.

And yes, you have pissed off this US Army vet, who is sworn, under oath, to protect this nation's Constitution against ALL enemies, both foreign and domestic.

Your position makes you a domestic enemy of that Constitution.

The insanity principle is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results. The far right, the far left, vegans, creationists and other extremists believe in the insanity principle, religiously.

Nick Barton's picture

The Government is big enough

The Government is big enough to do its job and has spent way too much money and gone beyond the outlines of the Constitution; a true student of history would realize this and stand up for a return to policies protecting the Constitution not just paying lip service by posting a resume of service to the Country. You not willing to accept freedom of speech in this country makes you an enemy of the Constitution as well; shall I set up a Court Martial or a firing squad?

That is the beauty of the Constitution we are free to have opposing opinions without fear that others will push those ideal upon us as the Democrats would like to do with their views. Whenever someone disagrees with a position they are called racist, misogynist, homophobe or some other vile term; because disagreement is unacceptable in the Democratic Party and to the Liberal viewpoint. Yet when Liberals disagree with Republicans it is for the betterment of society and the "peoples" own good.

Guess what the People do not need the Government looking out for them; that is what the Founding Father's believed and that is what the Republican's believe, while also believing in helping groups when necessary. Yet for the majority of Americans the need for the Government to be involved in their lives is unnecessary and intrusive. Speaking of kool-aid to believe that the Republican party is going to turn the country into a church run state is Liberal hype designed for the weak-minded among you who do not understand how the Government runs. That is the same as Republicans believing that Obama is going to turn the country into a Socialist Republic (well it is getting closer) more of a Socialist Democracy but can't without Congressional support.

Karl Rove used to just have RNC staffers planted near the media outside Democratic town mtgs hoping the media would mistake them for Democrats. Why would I choose to read a

Why would I choose to read a blog that obviously has a liberal bias to present as "fact" and using politfact or factcheck as a basis for argument doesn't help your case. Plus those "facts" are posted on every "opinionated" Liberal and Democrats website and blog. Just because someone makes an entry onto the internet doesn't make it true or successful.

In the case of GM according to real facts they are heading for bankruptcy once again and how is the Government going to handle that?

http://www.forbes.com/sites/louiswoodhill/2012/08/15/general-motors-is-headed-for-bankruptcy-again/

The stimulus plan in the tune of almost $800 Billion was not a success by any stretch of the imagination. Even the Congressional Budget Office downgraded their opinion. Most economist see it as a failure.

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2011/nov/22/cbo-stimulus-hurts-economy-long-run/?page=all

I could go on and on with your lists but I won't.

Raptorcat's picture

You may want to read them

You may want to read them because, unlike the right wingers, they actually FACT CHECK. That makes them facts, not opinions. Your inability to tell the difference is very telling about you.

As far as Obama's "failures", don't go blaming the president because the GOP has made it their mission to make him a one term president, over and above all other concerns.

When Congress willfully and intentionally obstructs progress, for party politics purposes, it is the fault of Congress, not the president. Saying that it is the President's fault would be akin to you running a red light and blaming the guy who had the right of way for the accident that you caused.

And the latest information out of Forbes magazine, as of just a couple of days ago, says that the GOP plan is going to be the worst economic policy for this country since Reagan's failed "trickle-down" economic strategy.

When even the most conservative, pro-business news source in the country is calling you a liar, then there must be something to it.

Read the articles and fact check for yourself. Places like politifact are one place that you can start. Then there is Truthout and while you may disagree with her, at least Rachel Maddow, a Rhodes scholar in political science, checks the facts and has no problem with calling out the falsehoods of either side.

Maybe you don't want to be confused with facts, but would rather depend on information that is outdated. Your loss. But don't try to get the rest of us to drink that kool-aide.

The insanity principle is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results. The far right, the far left, vegans, creationists and other extremists believe in the insanity principle, religiously.
