Video: President Obama's DNC Speech "We’re Not Going Back, We’re Moving Forward"

Tonight at the Democratic National Convention, President Obama defended his record and said that he was trying to move the country forward, while Republicans want to take America back to failed policies.

President Obama said: “We’ve been there, we’ve tried that, and we’re not going back. We’re moving forward.”

He also mocked the Republicans for wanting tax cuts to solve every economic problem: "Have a surplus? Try a tax cut. Deficit too high? Try another. Feel a cold coming on? Take two tax cuts, roll back some regulations, and call us in the morning.”

President Obama intertwined the end of his speech with the theme of Bruce Springtsteen's song 'We Take care of Our Own,' which played at the end.

"Yes our road is longer, but we travel it together. We don’t turn back. We leave no one behind.  We pull each other up.  We draw strength from our victories, and we learn from our mistakes, but we keep our eyes fixed on that distant horizon, knowing that Providence is with us, and that we are surely blessed to be citizens of the greatest nation on Earth.”

“If you turn away now, if you buy into the cynicism that the change we fought for isn’t possible, well, change will not happen."
