This weekend at the Republican State Committee meeting, Pennsylvania Republican House Leader Mike Turzai (R-PA) admitted that the state's voter identification law is meant to help Republicans, specifically Mitt Romney, win (video below).

Turzai took the stage and let the truth slip out as to why about why Republicans want voter I.D. laws that disenfranchise poor, elderly, disabled, and minority voters.

The new law requires voters in the state to present a government-issued photo ID when they cast ballots in federal, state and local elections.

Turzai said: “We are focused on making sure that we meet our obligations that we’ve talked about for years. Pro-Second Amendment? The Castle Doctrine, it’s done. First pro-life legislation, abortion facility regulations, in 22 years, done. Voter ID, which is gonna allow Governor Romney to win the state of Pennsylvania, done.”
