Back in December 2011, GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney had an awkward conversation with a gay U.S. veteran Bob Garon (video below).
Mitt Romney sat down at Garon's breakfast table for what he probably thought would be a positive photo-op at a campaign stop in New Hampshire.
Popular VideoIt turns out President Trump's budget has $2 trillion error in it:
The two men went back and forth on gay marriage, with Garon asking why he did not have the same constitutional rights with his partner as a straight couple, to which Romney answered: "No, actually, I think at the time the Constitution was written it was pretty clear that marriage is between a man and a woman. And I don't believe the Supreme Court has changed that."
Ironically, the two men were about the same age. Garon served in Vietnam, while Romney went to college and to France as a Mormon missionary.
