Susannah Randolph, Executive Director of the activist group Florida Watch Action, recently attempted to give GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney a symbolic pink slip at an Orlando, Florida rally (video below) in honor of all the people he fired while at Bain Capital, but Romney ignored her.
The text of the pink slip flyer reads:
Under Romney's leadership, Bain Capital became one of the nation's top leveraged-buyout firms.... But like other leveraged-buyout firms, Romney and his team also maximized returns by firing workers, seeking government subsidies, and flipping companies quickly for large profits. Sometimes Bain investors gained even when companies slid into bankruptcy....Romney himself became wealthy at Bain. He is now worth between $190 million and $250 million.
A Pink Slip Mitt website, created by Florida Watch Action, offers a free "Pink Slip Mitt" bumper sticker and downloadable pink slips that users can attempt to give to Romney.
