Video: Michigan State Rep. Tom McMillin Believes Homosexuality is a "Choice"

| by Michael Allen

Michigan State Rep. Tom McMillin (R) spoke to a town hall meeting last month. The sparsely attended event included one unnamed citizen who asked Rep. McMillin if he still believed that homosexuality was a "choice" like smoking.

Rep. McMillin said back in 2003 that homosexuality was a choice, and answered in the affirmative again, reports ThinkProgress.org (video below).

Rep. McMillin said: "Well, I think that the thousands of people that have been in that lifestyle and have come out would say that it was their choice when they were in it and came out of the lifestyle."

The voter then asked him: "Do you think some people are born gay.... But you think it’s a choice?"
