Speaking at a town hall in Denville, New Jersey on Thursday morning, Governor Chris Christie (R) claimed that he is offering gay marriage activists “the bargain of your life” by wanting to put same sex marriage up for a public vote (video below).
At the same time, Gov. Christie repeated his pledge to veto any measure expanding marriage rights to gays.
Earlier this week, Gov. Christie apologized for suggesting that African Americans would have been better off if the public could have voted on civil rights, instead of the lawmakers passing the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
