Video: Diane Sawyer's Bizarre Election Night Raises Questions

| by Michael Allen

Diane Sawyer seemed a bit loopy last night during ABC News' coverage of the presidential election (video below).

Sawyer's odd behavior caused many viewers to wonder if she was drunk or under the influence as she called various states' results, reports the Daily Mail.

People were so furious about this Pepsi ad that Pepsi pulled it after just one day. Watch it here and decide if it's offensive:

At about 10 p.m. EST, Sawyer said: "Okay, I wanna, can we have our music, because this is another big one here? Minnesota, we're ready to project Minnesota, right now.... Well, tonight we know that President Barack has won Minnesota."

At one point she called President Obama by the name of "Orama."

Soon, her rumored drunkenness was all over the web, which included a Twitter account called 'Drunk Diane Sawyer.'

Singer Josh Groban and  Real Housewives of New Jersey star Dina Manzo both joked on Twitter that they wanted whatever Sawyer was taking.

However, an unnamed ABC News source told the Daily Mail that Sawyer was actually suffering from exhaustion: "Diane's been up for days and she's had many sleepless nights. She was covering the hurricane and then preparing for the election broadcast."

"If you knew Diane you’d realize she's one of the hardest working people on television. She likes to cram things in, she likes to have every fact at her finger tips... and I think that came at the expense of the broadcast."

The source did not explain why ABC News allowed an exhausted anchor on the air, until 2 a.m. EST, during one of the most important news events of the year.
