John Burton, chairman of the California Democratic Party, apologized after comparing Republicans to Joseph Goebbels, the chief of Nazi propaganda (video below), reports Fox News.
Burton had told the San Francisco Chronicle: "They lie and they don't care if people think they lie ... Joseph Goebbels, the big lie, you keep repeating it. That was Goebbels, the big lie."
Popular VideoCongress just passed a drug testing law that has a lot of people outraged. Do you think this is wrong?
Burton also slammed Paul Ryan for his GOP convention speech, which mentioned the closure of a car plant in Janesville, Wisconsin, although it closed before President Obama took office.
Burton later issued a qualified apology: "If Mitt Romney, Paul Ryan, or the Republicans are insulted by my describing their campaign tactic as the big lie, I most humbly apologize to them or anyone who might have been offended by that comment."
