Sarah Palin Posts Angry Tweet About Supreme Court Obamacare Ruling

article image

Today, the U.S. Supreme Court upheld President Obama‘s health care reform mandate, also known as Obamacare, including the controversial individual mandate, which requires Americans to purchase health insurance.

As expected, Republicans are angry, with House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) planning another repeal vote on July 11th.

However, no one was angrier than former half-term Alaska Governor Sarah Palin who took to Twitter and tweeted: "Obama lied to the American people. Again. He said it wasn't a tax. Obamalies; freedom dies."

Earlier this week, Palin claimed again that Obamacare will bring "death panels."

Dear CRW As a strong advocate

Dear CRW As a strong advocate of the homeless and hungry I see most people have blinders as to what the poor actually receive. These people do not get adequate food, why oh why would anyone expect them to get adequate medical care or insurance. It will just be another bill they have no money to pay so will result in stiff penalties for them as Obama himself has said. Who is going to assess who has adequate money to pay the premium and who has not. Open your own eyes people are starving within feet of you and all the government is doing is cutting off avenues of food for them by banning all sharing of food with them . Google it,these food bans as you suggested I do. Google my name I have worked tireless to end all hunger. Again I applaud you Sarah for your astute assessment of the real meaning behind the passage of this bill.

As someone who has helped

As someone who has helped implement a welfare, food stamp, and medicaid eligibility system, I know you are completely full of it. If your income is low, you qualify for food stamps. If you are pregnant or have infant children, you get WIC too. Every state has medicaid programs for the poor, and most have special CHIP programs to provide health insurance to the children of the working poor.

The real problem with the ruling from yesterday is the elimination of the mandatory expansion of medicaid. The people in the gap between the truly poor and those with jobs with benefits are the ones who are still left in a lurch.

The overwhelming majority of homeless people are mentally ill and/or addicted (over 70%) people who are refusing treatment and assistance.

Yes... the US does not treat its poor well. However, in states that decide to follow through with the provisions of the ACA that are now deemed "optional," life will get better for the working poor.

In no way can anyone claim that the ACA makes things worse for the poor. Only someone delusional and uninformed would make such a claim.

I absolutely agree with Sarah

I absolutely agree with Sarah 100% With the passage of this legislation, American freedom has died. The poor have just been mandated by law to give their money to the uber rich the insurance companies. Now let's see should we use the money to eat this month (1 in 7 people are food insecure in the United States) or should we pay that rich company to become even richer. Well let's just chance it, we need to eat and at least in prison where they will send us if we don't pay that "stiff penalty" I will eat maybe not my wife and child, but I will eat. Let's fill up the prisons with all the people that can't afford this insurance or the stiff penalty either. That's what they do to the homeless when they can't pay their penalties for sleeping in public. If this sounds crazy have we thought maybe the Supreme Court is not what we thought, for the people. Either way the wealthy win, either the wealthy insurance companies, or the Republican Party when their candidate is elected to wipe out Obamacare.

Are you that clueless? Did

Are you that clueless? Did you actually look at the provisions in the ACA?

Right now an average of 40-60% of premiums paid go to paying benefits. Under ACA, the minimum is 80% and if a company exceeds a certain threshold, the minimum is 85%. This act REDUCES the money going into the hands of insurance investors. You have bought into one of many lies around the ACA.

People who are food insecure will automatically receive medicaid or other insurance vouchers to ensure they have coverage. Under the ACA, support for the poor will GROW!!!!

You really are one of the millions of clueless Americans who won't spend 15 minutes on the internet to see what the ACA actually means. I am already seeing benefits as my two oldest daughters who are in graduate school can continue to get good health insurance. Prior to the ACA, they would have been cut off as soon as they finished their undergraduate degrees.

Is there no one in your life

Is there no one in your life to tell you when you sound crazy and should take your meds? There should be.
