Presidential candidate Ron Paul seems to be the only person in the country speaking out against the killing of American citizen and al-Qaeda operative Anwar al-Awlaki. But Paul said people better smarten up because if the government can kill one U.S. citizen, who is next?
Speaking to the National Press Club on Wednesday, Paul theorized that it could be the media.
"Can you imagine being put on a list because you're a threat? What's going to happen when they come to the media? What if the media becomes a threat?, he said according to the New York Daily News. "This is the way this works. It's incrementalism. It's slipping and sliding, let me tell you."
In criticizing the al-Awlaki drone attack in Yemen, Paul pointed out that even Nazi war criminals were given due process of the law.
