Well, we won't have Rick Perry to kick around anymore in future Republican presidential debates. A Perry spokesman said the candidate will skip some debates in order to campaign and meet the people.
This comes after Perry, who has been a target in past debates and has performed quite poorly, said that it was a "mistake" to take part in some of the debates.
"These debates are set up for nothing more than to tear down the candidates," Perry said during Tuesday on Fox News. "It pretty hard to be able to sit and lay out your ideas and your concepts with a one minute response. So, you know, if there was a mistake made, it was probably ever doing one of the (debates) when all they're interested in is stirring up between the candidates instead of really talking about the issues that are important to the American people."
Perry has lost his frontrunner status since he started appearing in debates. The New York Daily News reports that in the latest CBS News/The New York Times poll, just 6% of Republicans support his candidacy, down from 23% a month ago.
