Video: Rep. Vicky Hartzler Doubts Pres. Obama's Birth Certificate

article image

At a recent town hall meeting. Rep. Vicky Hartzler (R-MO) told a crowd that she is not convinced that President Obama’s birth certificate is legitimate (video below).

Rep. Hartzler said: "I don’t know, I haven’t seen it. I’m just at the same place you are on that. You read this, you read that. But I don’t understand why he didn’t show that right away. I mean, if someone asked for my birth certificate, I’d get my baby book and hand it out and say ‘Here it is,’ so I don’t know."

Later, Rep. Hartzler repeated her doubts to the press: I have doubts that it is really his real birth certificate, and I think a lot of Americans do, but they claim it is, so we are just going to go with that."

Rep. Hartzler is not the only member of congress to call into question President Obama’s citizenship. Last month, Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-FL) questioned Obama's citizenship at an event.

Sheriff Arpaio has proven

Sheriff Arpaio has proven beyond any doubt whatsoever the birth certificate is forged. He has also proven the draft card was forged also. To top it all off, Obama (or whatever his real name is) is using a stolen social security number just like the other illegal aliens.

Obama should be arrested and stand trial for High Treason along with the criminals in congress who have assisted in this fraud. Hang em all!

Oh great! If Sheriff (string

Oh great! If Sheriff (string up the darkies) Arpaio has "proof beyond any doubt" that the birth certificate is real then I'm sure he'll get that in front of a judge so we can put this whole mess behind us right? He has brought a case before a judge right? I mean, if he had "proof" that the president wasn't a US citizen and he didn't bring a lawsuit I could only assume that either he's in on the conspiracy or he's a lying sack of shit. So, could you please update me on the status of that lawsuit? Given his "proof beyond any doubt" I'm sure it will be a quick case that will throw Obama out of the White house. It would be the case of the century and Arpaio would be set for life with book deals and I bet the Koch brothers would double his salary for life.

So, where was that case filed? I would love to know the status.

Arpaio is toast.

The two leading county attorneys who supported his pogrom against the judge and the members of the Maricopa County board of supervisors, were recommended for disbarment yesterday. They have eight days left to appeal the decision but there's zero chance they'll succeed. One lost her case brought for unlawful termination on Monday as well. A third will be suspended for six months and a day with little chance she's be readmitted to practice. They suborned perjury and squandered millions of taxpayer dollars on vexatious lawsuits. Expect criminal charges to be filed against "Sheriff Joe." We'll see how he looks in pink underwear.

Hartzler also pointed out that 49 percent of U.S. debt is held by foreign countries, noting “29 percent of our foreign debt is to China.”

“As a member of the Armed Services Committee I tell you, I have a lot of concerns about China. They are actually building up their military on the money we are giving them,” she said.

Hartzler said she is a member of the House China Caucus, and has concerns the country is embedding microchips with detection or tracking capabilities in products sold in the United States.

“We need to have a new 007 James Bond movie with China as the bad guys,” she said, citing a report she read recently. “China has the largest spy network. They are stealing our intelligence from our corporations ... it has the largest industrial espionage and stealing theft in history.”

After an audience member raised concerns that Chinese parts are used in U.S. military equipment and vehicles, Hartzler said she would look into the issue and “make sure that they aren’t using Chinese microchips in our planes or our tanks or anything else.”

She also blamed the U.S. corporate tax rate, now at 35 percent, the Affordable Care Act and over-regulation for driving U.S. factories to other nations, including China.

“We need to make this a more business-friendly environment,” she said.

I wish that everyone would

I wish that everyone would just cool it on the birth certificate thing. After all, most, if not all, of the things that Obama is, does, or says is a lie, a preverication, a half truth, or just some other type of deception. Why would his birth certificate be any different?

Congress has no honor left.

Congress has no honor left. They do not have the testicular fortitude to do the right thing about the eligiblity issue. They are all OWNED by special interest groups, and, as such, are not going to accept their responsibilities as legislators. The justice department is corrupt from top to bottom. They aren't going to do anything either. The military have no gonads left either. Everyone is afraid of the big, bad socialist / Marxist / communist wannabe that is currently occupying the White House.

Funny thing about this "eligibility issue" is that nobody has presented any evidence at all that Obama wasn't born in the US. You hear plenty of people questioning the evidence that he was but nobody anywhere has presented any shred of evidence that he wasn't. In the USA we're innocent until proven guilty. Unless you have proof that he wasn't born here STFU.

So, has Ms. Hartzler done

So, has Ms. Hartzler done anything to disprove the accusation that she is not a native-born American, but actually Jamaican? I mean, sure, those people who claim to be her parents might know the truth, but we haven't established whether or not they are who THEY claim to be, either. For all we know, they could be deep-cover Jamaican operatives who were tasked with raising her to infiltrate our congress as a Jamaican sleeper agent. After all, being raised in America for the last 60 years couldn't possibly have done anything to override the conditioning of her Jamaican birth.

CRW's picture

She is from the "show me"

She is from the "show me" state. I would say the president has met the requirement to demonstrate his citizenship. It is the same requirement I had to meet to get my driver's license and passport.

This woman is a conspiracy theorist:

She opposes climate change, she is a member of the Tea Party, she is a hypocrite when it comes to agriculture subsidies, and it goes on and on...

This woman doesn't have the pedigree to question a McDonald's cashier on whether her order was correct.

The Congress is loaded with a

The Congress is loaded with a whole bunch of folks with R's and D's behind their names who do not have the gonads to do the right thing. The folks that are running this world just love the fact that they can get us divided by the liberal/conservative paradigm, or, the black/white paradigm, or the rich/poor paradigm.

All the while they are laughing all the way to the bank while they steal from us in the form of taxes, inflation, fiat money, bad loans, reams of rules, regulations, and codes no one can figure out.

Yes, they have you, all of you, just where they want you. Me too. I am just as stuck in this mess as you are. But, we, and I mean all of us, are going to have to come together to purge our Congress of the current plague that exists there. A well tended field has far fewer weeds than one that is left unattended. We gotta weed the crop of legislators of anyone who is not statesman material.

And, we have to do it now. If you are a Democrat, fine. Weed out those in your party that would sacrifice your freedom for security. Same goes for Republicans, Libertarians, Greens, and every one else. We have to police our own candidates. Make sure that they are eligible to hold office. Make sure that potential voters are eligible to vote. It is our duty as American citizens.

The problem is that the document he finally submitted clearly shows signs to experts that is was put together from other like documents...transposing numbers. The certificate number is out of sequence for the date as compared to other similar birth certificates. A friend who is very good with computer editing, and uniformly distrusts either party, found this document to be "all screwed up".

State of Reason's picture

No, the problem is that

No, the problem is that birthers are so desperate that they will make up any crazy shit to support their argument yet they have never presented one bit of evidence to support the idea that the president wasn't born in HI. You can question the evidence that's been shown in favor of his US birth but that is not the same as evidence that he wasn't born here. You can claim that there's a conspiracy between the president, the governor and secretary of state of HI and a variety of other state and federal agencies but that is not actually evidence he wasn't born here.

Not sure why I'm even bothering to talk to you though. I could give you an original VHS tape showing him coming out of his mother then panning out and walking out of the hospital and showing the sign on the hospital and you wouldn't accept that.

What she does convince people

What she does convince people of is that she is an idiot. First, his birth was never in question. If one of your parents is an American citizen, so are you. Where you were born is not relevant. McCain was born in Panama, I wonder why she hasn't made an issue of that?

Next, the entire "birther" nonsense was started by the Clinton campaign when she hoped to get the nomination. I suspect it has been kept alive by Obama's people because it distracts from genuine issues and allows people like Hartzler to demonstrate how abysmally stupid they are. If that's the case, it's working brilliantly.

alfred.dadda's picture

Mr. Smith, To the contrary,

Mr. Smith,

To the contrary, if one parent is a U.S citizen of the US and the other is not this does not mean you are a citizen by birth. In Se. McCain case I do believe his father was stationed in Panama as a member of the military, and both of his parents were born in the US as well. This is also the case for my son as well, my wife and I are both US Citizens and I am a member of the military, and our son was born in Germany. So in this example my son, just as McCain in McCain's case, is a U.S Citizen by birth.

As to the argument of President Obama's birth certificate I will submit that even if he is not a US citizen it brings up the question of what now. In short every law, bill and any executive order he has signed or issued is null and void. So my point here is this becomes an issue of what would be done if he was not a US citizen? In my opinion nothing would be done at this point, in fact I say nothing will be done at all. I do think the efforts to prove he is not a US citizen have been a futile effort. The reason being is because, I think, no one really wants to face that, in fact it would be better to just acknowledge he is a citizen for the good of the nation.

I am bound by oath to obey the orders of the officers appointed over me and those of the president of the united states of America. If I am ordered to walk through hell with gasoline pants on I will do so.

Finally I would encourage all to stop living in the past and move forward. The debate of a birth certificate seems to pale in comparison to the debt we are amounting on a daily basis. There are bigger issues to concern ourselves with.

Thoughts?

If the child is born within

If the child is born within the territories of the U.S., the parents' citizenship is irrelevant, the child is considered a U.S. citizen (remember the current controversy with anchor babies).

Citizenship by parentage only matters when the child is born outside U.S. territories. Min. req'd is (1) parent with U.S. citizenship w/ some stipulations on yrs. spent in the U.S.

"Knowledge is good." - Emil Faber

Steve Boyd's picture

I've always thought one had

I've always thought one had to be born on American soil to be a U.S. citizen, no matter what your parents are. McCain was born in Panama, but on a U.S. military base and it sounds like the same for your son being born in Germany, but on a military base. U.S. military bases are considered American soil no matter where they are.

I, of course, could be completely off base (no pun), but the American soil thing sticks with me from WAY back in school....

alfred.dadda's picture

Steve, In the case of my son,

Steve,

In the case of my son, he could have been born in a German Hospital but because my wife and I are both citizens he is by birth a citizen. In fact he would not be a German citizen by birth because there is no "birther law" in Germany.

Military bases are considered U.S. ground but I am not sure in using the term soil. In either case the U.S. government is the owner until otherwise stated or the treaty ends and so on.

Sure there's a conspiracy,

Sure there's a conspiracy, but the whole Birther thing is a conspiracy, by the GOP, designed to point away from the fact that the GOP has no one qualified to run this country anywhere but further into the ground (since bush Jr. only had 8 years to try to do it). A poor conspiracy to be certain, but a conspiracy of idiots none the less.

The birth certificate, as you and I and all of the rest of us with brains that actually function at a sentient level know, has been long ago dealt with to the satisfaction of the law.

And the idiotic statement by Hartzler of just going and getting her baby book out is stupid. I have my baby book and my birth certificate is not in there, so that statement was either just plain stupid or was playing on the gullibility of those dumb enough to actually fall for this whole birther thing.

The fact that the GOP insists on making these kinds of attacks and lies about the facts is designed to keep the public from asking any of them about the real issues that they actually have no answers to that would satisfy those of us that care about this country.

It is all part of the tactic of the lie. Hitler was good at that and the GOP has become almost as expert at it as the NAZIS were.

The insanity principle is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results. The far right, the far left, vegans, creationists and other extremists believe in the insanity principle, religiously.

Raptorcat, As a Republican

Raptorcat,

As a Republican you may find it hard to believe that I agree with your statement. I view this issue as linked to both parties and the tea party is no innocent child here either. In fact I get sick of the banter between Ed Schultz and O'Riely.

As a serviceman I view all, both parties, as lacking in leadership in even the basic sense. I have seen school children get along better and have a better grasp on the whole right and wrong concept.

I my opinion we need a candidate who does not worry about a second term, rather will let his actions be his campaign slogan for a second term.

Thought?

Alfred, It must be hard to

Alfred, It must be hard to be a reasonable moderate in the party that has turned so extreme. I do, truly feel for you on that, being a moderate myself.

I have served the Constitution, many years ago, and was a member of the obstructionist "party of no" before they were taken over by the treasonous far right religious nuts and corrupt corporations. I left the GOP for their consistently treasonous behavior, after "the boy who would be king" was elected for his first term and I agree that both parties have dirty hands.

But for now, we must choose the lesser of the evils and hope that we are making the wiser decision. I wish it were not so, or at least an easier decision to make, but until we make some pretty radical changes regarding term limits, getting rid of that damned CU decision and start closing the loopholes that have allowed corruption to take hold in the government, we have to do what we have to do.

The insanity principle is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results. The far right, the far left, vegans, creationists and other extremists believe in the insanity principle, religiously.
