Poll: Sarah Palin Trails Obama by Just 5 Points
With rumors swirling of an impending divorce filing, Sarah Palin trails President Obama by just five points in the latest presidential poll.
The McClatchy-Marist poll shows in a theoretical matchup, Obama would beat Palin 49%-44%. That's not bad for Palin considering she is not even in the race.
But if Palin were to enter, she might not even get the chance to face Obama in a general election -- 72% of Republicans and GOP-leaning Independents are against a Palin run.
Palin has been saying for months that she would announce her decision by the end of September, which is quickly approaching. But now it appears she is pushing that back.
Appearing on Fox News earlier this week, host Sean Hannity said she would have to decide to November at the latest to ensure that her name appears on the ballot. Palin agreed, suggesting she may not decide until then.
“There is still time, Sean, and I think on both sides of the aisle I think you’re going to see people coming and going from this race,” she said. “And I’m still one of those still considering the time factor.”
Palin called this an "unconventional election cycle" that could even see a Democrat making a late primary challenge of Obama.

I think it's would be great if Sarah Palin were to get into the race. She certainly has been "vetted" by Joe McGinnis and did get a good taste of her own medicine for what she's been dishing out. As far as her debating skills... that's the million dollar questions that most Americans are anxiously waiting to see. I tend to think she's going to sound like a recording using all of her past speeches, but don't really think she has any true plans for anything. Run Sarah Run!!! Show us what you are made of. Can you make the promise that you won't ditch out of the White House like you did when you were governor???
