Georgia State Rep. Judy Manning Scared of Romney's Mormon Faith, But Says "It’s Better Than a Muslim"
The Marietta Daily Journal reported on the obstacles that Mitt Romney, who is a Mormon, may have to overcome in the Republican party's social conservative wing.
The Journal quotes Republican state Rep. Judy Manning (pictured in the middle) as saying: “I think Mitt Romney is a nice man, but I’m afraid of his Mormon faith. It’s better than a Muslim. Of course, every time you look at the TV these days you find an ad on there telling us how normal they are."
"So why do they have to put ads on the TV just to convince us that they’re normal if they are normal? … If the Mormon faith adhered to a past philosophy of pluralism, multi-wives, that doesn’t follow the Christian faith of one man and one woman, and that concerns me."

Not all things that are true should be spoken.
And the problem is?
Actually, there is polygomy in the bible and it is not condemned. The god of the bible takes a very good view to multiple wives. So, the only difference between the bible and Mormonism is that multiple wives among Mormons is more recent. It is state legislators such as her who wants America to be a Christian type theocracy. I am sure she has utter contempt towards our secular republic, a nation founded upon the Enligtenment. She wants the religious rightwing to rule and impose their views on the rest of us.

You had better go back and study history my friend! Look at the religion and how long it has been around and then tell me monogamy is “traditional”.
Now as to your question why afraid?
I don’t really think she is afraid, but man what a way to spread the fear, the agenda and the bias towards something you are opposed to. What a way to make someone you want to lose votes look bad…
I was going to continue ranting but I will stop here and let you think about things and just stick it on my blog when I get the time, no one reads it but it lets me “vent” about all the bullshit going on in our society today.
Oh, was she making a punt towards Obama with the remark about Muslims or just voicing concerns that we all may end up being Muslims in the end? Things that make you go hum…

I know history, apparently much better than you do. Mormonism is decidedly a departure from traditional Christianity. Golden plates and a book that's part of no other Christian tradition? Definitely a departure.
