CNN's Don Lemon: Michele Bachmann's Husband Shoved Me

CNN news anchor Don Lemon is accusing Michele Bachmann's staffers -- and her husband -- of shoving him while trying to talk to the GOP presidential candidate.

Lemon said he was trying to ask Bachmann "respectful" questions in Iowa last Friday as she was leaving an event amid a crush of media and the public when staffers and Marcus Bachmann elbowed him away.

“I told them, asked them not to elbow me," Lemon said on the air. "And then her husband Marcus started doing the same thing. And then he elbowed me into the cart. And I said, ‘You just pushed me into the cart.’ And he goes, ‘No, you did it yourself.’ It was just, I don’t know, why they would choose to do that."

Now, Lemon recently wrote a book coming out as gay, and Marcus Bachmann has proven to be not the most gay-friendly person in the world, so perhaps Lemon was referring to these facts when he asked why "they would choose to do that."

According to The Atlantic Wire, Bachmann Press Secretary Alice Stewart, one of the alleged pushers, responded to the incident by saying only, “Our number one priority is the safety and protection of Michele Bachmann.”
