Americans for Prosperity Super PAC Offers Motorists Gas at $1.84 a Gallon
A Beacon & Bridge gas station in Mount Morris Township, Michigan offered gas for $1.84 a gallon to spread an anti-Obama message via a political stunt created by the billionaire Koch brothers Super Pac: Americans for Prosperity-Michigan.
Traffic backed up nearly a half mile to I-475 today as the gas station rolled back prices to $1.84 per gallon for the first 150 motorists, reports MLive.com.
Americans for Prosperity said that the $1.84 per gallon price reflects the cost of gas in 2008, before President Barack Obama took office. The Super PAC paid the difference in price to the gas staion owner.
Hundreds of cars lined up to get cheap gas, but Americans for Prosperity-Michigan had to turn away as many people as got the discounted gas.
Scott Hagerstrom, state director of Americans for Prosperity-Michigan, told MLive.com: "We really need to remind people about where we were just a few short years ago. We’re really about limited government and economic liberty. We have the resources in this country to be energy independent and if we drill those resources it’ll mean great paying jobs for Americans and it will also increase the supply (of oil) and lower the price."
Hagerstrom did not mention that, for the first time, the U.S. is exporting more oil than it is importing, under President Obama. Nor did Hagerstrom mention that gas prices at the pump are not related to which country the gas is produced in, but rather the prices that oil speculators set.

There are always people out
There are always people out there looking for simple answers to complex questions. They don't care what the obstacles are. They only want instant gratification. The reprehensible act of offering discounted gas by billionaire Koch brothers Super Pac: Americans for Prosperity-Michigan, as if this is the great solution to our over-dependence on fossil fuels (something we've known about for at least 40 years, but refuse to accept and take action to make needed changes) for example, more research and development of alternative fuels to power this nation -- attract the cretin little minds of Tea Party Members who have long forgotten how to use their own brain power to rationally think through issues. Instead these morons are supporting endangering the environment both water and air calling for elimination of the EPA and other ludicrous actions that will only diminish the economic strength (potential) for this nation in the 21st Century. The Super Pac Americans for Prosperity is doing a great disservice to this nation, and needs to be regulated.
