Shak's Shoes

Poker pro Beth Shak has been named to the advisory board of Shoe Revolt, a social enterprise that sells new and gently used shoes to fight human trafficking in the United States.

"With over a thousand pairs of designer shoes, I understand the 'addiction' to beautiful shoes," Shak said. "I love the idea of appealing to women's love of shoes to help girls and young women escape the tyranny of sexual violence. Together we have the power to kick human trafficking to the curb in this country."

ShoeRevolt.com is an online shoe boutique that raises awareness of, inspires and empowers women to donate high-end shoes to eradicate human trafficking in the United States with every donated shoe sold.

PokerStars Goes Greek

PokerStars is partnering with Club Hotel Casino Loutraki outside of Athens, Greece, to host the first ever major poker tournaments in Greek history.

The €1,000+€100 Greek Poker will go off Mar. 24-27.

PokerStars says the number of players are up and the game is growing exponentially in Greece.

Free online satellites to the Greek Poker Cup are already running at PokerStars.net.

Chauhan Sigs With Fill Tilt

Mindset coach Sam Chauhan has inked a deal with Full Tilt Poker.

After helping a number of high profile pros on the circuit, Chauhan will run a new Mindset Academy for the online poker site.

The Academy will be available to Full Tilt customers with Chauhan claiming it will feature mindset techniques to help players avoid tilt and build up a sound image.

European Deepstack Poker Championship IV

Swede Magnus Nasslin won the 4th European Deepstack Poker Championship at the Ballsbridge Inn Hotel in Dublin, Ireland last week.

The €550 event drew 737 players through 4 days with Nasslin taking home €70,000 for the win.

Over 30 countries were represented with the largest contingents coming from France, Belgium, Denmark, Ireland, Switzerland, Italy and England.

The 5th running of the event will be announced soon with plans to break the 1,000-player mark.

Bullseye For 888

888.com has signed on as a sponsor for Premier League Darts.

The 888.com Premier League Darts, featuring eight stars of the sport, will begin Feb. 10 at The O2 in London and proceed around the UK for 15 successive Thursday nights.

Over 80,000 fans will pack the UK's biggest arenas during the event.

"We are delighted to welcome 888.com back into darts as the title sponsor for the Premier League Darts," said Barry Hearn.

"This tournament has emerged as the biggest indoor sporting event in the country in recent years and we look forward to welcoming a record number of fans to the country's 15 biggest arenas."

Every night will be screened live on Sky Sports HD, with the opening night also live on Sky 3D.

Team PokerStars Online Grows

The Team PokerStars Online class of 2011 was announced this week.

A total of 4,500 applied for one of just 15 spots on the team.

The highest profile players signed were MTT grinders Mer "PeachyMer" Brit and Shane "shaniac" Schleger.

Prolific 2+2 forum posters foucault82 and cnew27, rally race car driver Jorge Limon, innerpsy, the former record-holder for most hands played in one day, and WizardOfAhhs, the current record-holder for most VIP Player Points earned in a single year, are also among those joining the team.
