Photos: PETA's Bloody NYC Anti-Meat Protest

By Jeff Mackey

We've always said that meat is murder, but our demonstration in New York City this week literally turned that message into flesh and blood. Well, OK, the blood was fake, but the point was genuine: All meat comes from somebody. And when you show human bodies in those neatly plastic-wrapped supermarket packages, the point hits home and it begins to look like a grisly scene from Dexter.

The thought of chewing and swallowing the skin and muscle of a murder victim surely ruined some viewers' appetites for flesh food. It's the appropriate response to witnessing a gruesome display of the corpses of those who have been tormented and killed—you know, like in the butcher department of your supermarket. Let's face it, every piece of meat comes from an individual who suffered miserably and died violently. In other words, meat is … yup … murder.

Thanks

I have not laughed like that for a couple of days. Those pictures are too funny.

I want to thank PETA for clearing up the whole murder issue as well. All this time I have been confused. Turns out it was just meat. Who knew?

If meat is murder

why do you guys kill stray animals instead of taking care of them?

you know what...

I think they are all about emotions and less sensible reasoning. If meat is murder maybe they should catch all the baby bears, big cats, wolves, etc. train them to eat tofu, and plants. Heh, they would probably release them back in the wild, and think they did the ecosystem a favor while the poor dears starve. If selling and buying meat is murder then what do they feed the meat eating animals they nurse back to health? If we stopped hunting game and killing livestock then tey would over populate a large number would starve and because there would be many of them succumb to disease and a most of the individuals in a herd would die. Now don't get me wrong they should be treated with care, mercy, and respect. We also use every part of the animal like the native American peoples. So PETA should understand that death isn't an evil, but necessary thing. Like hot is to cold or light is to dark.

I can answer that

PETA isn't about saving the lives of animals...they're about control, and they want to tell you and me how we should live our lives.

should've

Wrapped the plastic tighter. there's no way any of those packages would have made it past a health inspection.
