Manchester United One Point From Qualification

| by ManUdTalk

The Attention turns back to the Champions League on Wednesday night as Manchester United look to secure qualification into the knock-out stages. The Champions League odds suggests United will win this one, I however predict a 1-1 draw as our away form isn't too good at the moment.

Only one point is required at Ibrox to see United through. Valenica will also qualify if they manage to pick up more points than Rangers, which will send the Scottish Champions into the Europa League, but football can turn up some strange results and Rangers will be highly motivated so who knows what may happen?

Sir Alex Ferguson will be keen to get one over on his old club and knows that all three points will mean United finish top of group C. The reverse fixture at Old Trafford turned into a 0-0 bore draw as Rangers parked the bus and ground out a point for themselves, however the game will mostly be remembered for the horror injury which left Luis Antonio Valencia being sidelined until at least February. Rangers are currently top of the SPL so they should show a bit more attacking intent at Ibrox as they really need to win. Their main danger man is Kenny Miller.

The Headline team news for Manchester United will be of course the return of Wayne Rooney. In my opinion he is still struggling for form and fitness and his return to action as a sub against Wigan did little to suggest the old Rooney was back to his best. Hopefully he will start firing soon.

Ferguson has tended to shuffle the pack quite a lot so far during this season's Champions League campaign so predicting the team is tricky. We could see starts for Smalling, Bebe, perhaps even Evans and O’Shea will make the starting eleven.

My prediction would be Van Der Sar, Rafael, Smalling, Evans, Evra, Nani, Scholes, Carrick, Fletcher, Obertan, Rooney.

Score Prediction: 1-1
