Today’s “Daily Double” consists of two inmates at the Racine County Jail in Wisconsin sparring for the right to watch Alex Trebek.

Jesse A. Cortez, 47, of Racine, and Allen A. Flowers, 21, also of Racine allegedly began arguing and pushing one another in a dayroom at the jail after Cortez changed the television channel from “Jeopardy,” which Flowers had wanted to watch, according to the criminal complaint.

Cortez told police he didn’t notice Flowers watching television on April 2 and got up to flip through channels until getting approval from other inmates, ultimately stopping on the Discovery Channel, according to the complaint.

Flowers then confronted Cortez to tell him he had been watching “Jeopardy” and said to police that Cortez told him that didn’t matter.

“I never asked to watch nothing, how does it not matter, I just wanted to watch ‘Jeopardy’ this one time,” Flowers said, according to the criminal complaint.

Flowers made his initial appearance in Racine County Circuit Court on the same day and had cash bond set at $250, according to electronic court records. He has a status conference scheduled for July 15.

Cortez had a hearing regarding the case scheduled for Friday but did not appear and has a warrant out for his arrest, according to electronic court records.
