A woman in Clawson, Michigan recently called police when she overheard what sounded like a violent altercation in a nearby apartment in her complex.

The nosy neighbor also said she heard a loud noise in between the yelling.

Police responded quickly, figuring it was a domestic violence call.

“One of the neighbors had heard somebody yelling, a female yelling… she was possibly being hit, yelling, ‘Stop! No!'" Clawson Police Chief Harry Anderson told WWJ Newsradio 950.

However, it turned out not to be a domestic violence incident.

“The female that was inside stated that her boyfriend had continued to pass gas, and she was yelling at him to stop," Chief Anderson.

According to the police report, officers “cleared the scene expeditiously.”

“It’s quite often that we respond to things that have a funny twist to them and this was definitely one for the books," added Chief Anderson.
