A Chicago man is facing a felony-level charge after drunkenly passing out on top of his 81-year-old mother for several hours, ultimately breaking her hip in three different places.
Robert Golba, 55, was arrested last Thursday after Golba’s mother eventually managed to alert relatives, who quickly called police. According to a press release, Golba was “extremely combative with responding officers and had to be restrained.”
He’s currently facing a felony charge for violation of a protective order, which had previously been levied against Golba and restricted him from visiting his mother’s home under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
The incident allegedly occurred during an argument between the two at the Chicago-area home they both share.
First responders to last Thursday’s incident reported Golba was unconscious on top of his mother and the pair's legs were intertwined. He was later taken to a local hospital where he was treated and released for alcohol poisoning.
His mother, however, underwent hip surgery after being rushed from the scene to Loyola University Medical Center. She may need to undergo additional surgeries in the future.
According to his Facebook page, Golba is self-employed musician/singer/songwriter/recording artist.
