In a televised speech before Congress last night President Obama sought to reassure Americans that that while the nation's economy is currently facing dark days, the country would emerge stronger and better than ever.
“As we stand at this crossroads of history, the eyes of all people in all nations are once again upon us, watching to see what we do with this moment, waiting for us to lead,” said Obama. He went on to promise that even though the nation faces a financial crisis, he was as committed as ever to pushing through needed reforms to health care, energy and other sectors.
