NFL Wars: Tom Zbikowski vs Chad Johnson
By now most of us have already heard what Tom Zbikowski said on the Dan Patrick show yesterday. For those who missed it, when Patrick asked Tom which NFL player he would most like to fight, Zbikowski stated Ocho Cinco without hesitation. He said that "Ochocinco talks like he can box"; he also makes a prediction on a first round knockout. 45 seconds to be exact.
Chad Johnson, who hasn't ever been short on words, quickly responded via twitter, "you wanna go night night, you want to box me, for one your feet are to slow, and you've no hand speed to even be competitive #smh"
Zbikowski decided to try and escalate the potential match more by replying "Dear Ocho Cinco ( I won't call you Johnson cause you only get one name change in my book), thanks for following my career...You and me at M&T Bank Stadium, charity four-round boxing match. You wear Orange and Black and I will wear Purple and black. If we do it in May, that should give you enough time to get ready...You game?"
Chad Johnson runs his mouth a lot and has talked about fighting numerous people but nothing has come to pass. Johnson uses boxing as a form of training in the offseason, while Zbikowski uses boxing as a form of fighting in the offseason. The biggest difference is one likes to look good while the other likes to make you look bad, cosmetically.
Zbikowski has competed in Golden Gloves program since the age of 9. In his first professional boxing match, he knocked out Robert Bell in 49 seconds in Madison Square Garden. As an amateur he was 75-15. That's 90 more real boxing matches than Chad Johnson has been in. So, Johnson will continue to run his mouth and Zbikowski will keep hitting people in them. Cause even though Johnson might be faster than Zbikowski, if this match happened, it would just be another case of a safety laying out a receiver and there's no fines for hits to the head in this sport Mr. Johnson. Maybe Chad needs to heed to the infamous words of Mike Tyson, when he talks about game planning around Zbikowski's slow feet and hands, "Everyone has a plan 'til they get punched in the mouth"!
For those of you that are wondering why I still refer to Chad by the surname of Johnson, well it only makes sense to stay with the boxing theme. In the movie "Coming to America", they referred to Muhammad Ali as Cassius Clay. When he was told that he goes by Muhammad Ali now, he replied, his mama named him Clay, I'ma call him Clay. If it's good enough for Mr. Clay, it's good enough for Mr. Johnson.
