Party at Jonah Shacknai's "Death Mansion" Before Girlfriend Died?

Adding to the intrigue that surrounds this growing mystery, police in San Diego are investigating whether a party was held at the mansion of pharmaceuticals CEO Jonah Shacknai the day after his six-year-old son Max suffered eventually fatal injuries in a fall -- and one day before Jonah's girlfriend was found dead hanging from a balcony.

Last Monday Max Shacknai fell down the steps at the house in the tony suburb of Coronado. The six-year-old boy was rushed to the hospital at the time. Then, on Wednesday, Shacknai's girlfriend, 32-year old Rebecca Nalepa, was found hanging from a balcony nude, a rope around her neck and her arms and legs bound. Max died from his injuries on Sunday.

Now word of a party.

"We received information that there may have been a party at the house on Tuesday," said Homicide Sergeant Roy Frank, according to the Daily Mail. "This is only a report. The exact nature of the get together at the house is something we will be looking at."

Police have not yet ruled whether Nalepa's death was a crime or a suicide. Despite her arms and legs being bound by an orange electrical chord, police still think she might have killed herself.

"I think that anything that was going on in Rebecca's life prior to her death we would be looking into," said Frank. "For instance, if she was feeling suicidal or depressed. We would be looking into the victimology."

One theory is that she was very upset over Max's accident. But so far, police have yet to link the two deaths.
