New-Look WPT Debuts on Fox Sports Sunday

The WPT has spent the last year getting a facelift and the new, fresh, hip, and edgy version of the show that helped kick off the first poker boom will debut on FSN at 8 p.m. Feb. 13.

Website host Kimberly Lansing is back in a new role as anchor, handling interviews and news throughout, while the veteran team of Mike Sexton and Vince Van Patten return to call the action.

Plus, poker pro Tony Dunst beat out hundreds for the “Raw Deal” commentator position and will act as the "Simon Cowell of cards," putting the players' every move under the microscope.

For the first time, the WPT broadcast will bring viewers coverage of tournaments from beginning to end as the new show will feature more than just the final table, but action from the days leading up to it.

There will also be a new 4-color deck graphic, new theme music, and a new set of statistics taking viewers right in the game.

Add in six beautiful, multicultural women called the Royal Flush Girls who will serve as brand ambassadors for the show's ninth season and the WPT on FSN has a completely new look and feel.

Each tournament will be telecast over two episodes, with the first show from the 2010 Bellagio Cup running this Sunday and completing Feb. 20.

“As Season IX rolls out, fans will find all the great poker action they’ve come to expect with a new, faster-paced, edgier tone,” said Steve Heller, CEO of World Poker Tour. “We are introducing new elements, graphics and talent throughout the season. Each week viewers are guaranteed to see something unexpected and uniquely WPT.”
