Murder of Unborn Baby Not Included in New Fort Hood Charges

According to the Examiner.com, the Army yesterday issued 32 additional charges against Army Maj. Nidal Hasan, but they did not include the charge of murder against Pvt. Francheska Velez's preborn baby, killed when she was killed...

On Wednesday... Hasan was charged with 32 additional counts of premeditated attempted murder on the lives of 30 members of the military and 2 civilian police officers.
These charges are in addition to the 13 counts of murder he has already been charged with in last month's shooting spree in Killeen, TX.

Recall Velez was only at Ft. Hood to begin with because of her baby. According to Fox News:

Velez... recently had returned from a tour of duty in Iraq.

According to family members, Velez had been back for just 3 days before the incident. She returned home early because she was 3 months pregnant. She happened to be in the building filling out paperwork due to her pregnancy when the gunman opened fire....
Velez was expecting a baby boy in May.

The Army dishonors not only Velez's baby but Velez by ignoring his murder. And the Army ignores the law by doing so, namely the Unborn Victims of Violence Act.

Ask the Mother how she feels. Her Baby is gone. A part of herself.

Pedantry is alive and well I see.

While we're at it: Third parties are in no position to accuse 'dishonor' on the part of an involved participant because they didn't attach a 14th charge on behalf of a 3 month fetus.

If you think they should add the charges... I'm totally cool with that and you're right, it would be consistent with existing legal code. However, you are out of line, in my opinion, in charging the Army with dishonorable acts simply because the prosecutors chose not to add, or didn't consider, charges on behalf of the fetus.

Believe it or not, it is not their legal duty to add this 14th charge. It is entirely up to the prosecution and I don't think you, or anyone else, should condemn them for not adding that charge to a list of 13 charges of murder and 32 charges of attempted murder.

I concede that this article is consistent with your position and level of extreme anti-woman pedantics, but my beef is your accusation of dishonor which is a serious charge against a military that values honor above almost all else. It may work for you in politics and other civilian rants, but against the military your evaluation of honor is much more critical the severity of what you say. It's the equivalant of a "Your mother is a whore" attack, and should be used with care, not just to push your political agenda willy-nilly.

what are you talking about im in military and the military all branches dishonors people everyday no one is perfect and neither is military but this is definitely a dishonor to the unborn child and the mother and the only reason is politics so to say they added 32 charges is irrelevant the law says this is murder and thats what the charge needs to be common sense and by not doing this is a dishonor not bashing the worlds greatest military but acting as though it is perfect is just stupid
