Video: NYC Fast Food Workers Go on Strike for $15 an Hour

| by Michael Allen

Workers at some fast food restaurants in New York City walked off their jobs on Thursday and gathered in front of a McDonald's in Manhattan to demand higher wages and approval to form a workers union.

The workers say their $7.25 per hour pay is not enough to feed their families and want an increase to $15, reports My Fox NY (video below).

McDonald's said in a statement that it values its employees and remains committed to them, reports the New York Times.

Unions at fast food restaurants are rare because turnover rate is high and few employees work full time.
