CNN: Obama Approval Rating Down to 45 Percent

| by

CNN released a new poll Monday showing a drastic nine-point drop in President Obama’s approval ratings.

It is the first time since 2011 that more Americans disapprove of the President than approve, according to CNN tracking. And for the first time since Obama has taken office in 2008, only a minority of Americans feel Obama is trustworthy and honest.

It turns out President Trump's budget has $2 trillion error in it:

The poll places Obama’s current approval rating at 45 percent, which quickly dropped from 53 percent in mid-May. In addition, 54 percent of respondents specifically disapprove of how Obama is conducting affairs.

The poll also found, somewhat surprisingly, that the president’s approval by Americans under 30 dropped by a staggering 17 points.

It turns out President Trump's budget has $2 trillion error in it:

"The drop in Obama's support is fueled by a dramatic 17-point decline over the past month among people under 30, who, along with black Americans, had been the most loyal part of the Obama coalition," CNN Polling Director Keating Holland said.

These numbers are incredibly discouraging for Democrats, who have felt in recent years that they have a lock on the youth vote.

Approval among independent voters significantly dropped as well by 10 points, from 47 percent to 37 percent.

Though the poll didn’t determine a specific factor in the drastic approval rating drop, it is likely due to a storm of various issues that have surfaced in recent weeks. From the Benghazi hearings, to the IRS scandal, to the Justice Department’s collection of journalists’ phone records, to the most recent revelation of the NSA’s collection of millions of Americans phone and internet data, the Obama administration has had a rough month of bad press.
