MLB: Mets’ Wright Has Stress Fracture in Back

| by Off The Record

New York Mets 3B David Wright is out of Monday’s lineup with a back problem, and it looks like he’ll be out a lot longer than just today. According to’s Amy Nelson, Wright actually has a stress fracture in his back.

“Sandy Alderson says David Wright had MRI on his back, tentative diagnosis stress fracture in his lower back. getting 2nd opinion…,” Nelson tweets.

Supposedly, even if the initial diagnosis is correct, Wright should only miss 10 days or so. And a DL stint will be postponed until they get that second opinion.

This shouldn’t be a big deal unless he comes back too soon and has to sit out again. Surgery wouldn’t be required to fix this issue.
