Mel Brooks Receives 2,406th Star on Walk of Fame

Over 50 years after receiving an academy award for Best Screenplay (The Producers), Mel Brooks is finally receiving his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.  Born Melvin Kaminsky in 1926, Mel has played virtually every role in the entertainment industry including a comedian, actor, producer, director, writer, composer and lyricist.  

His early work included Your Show of Shows with Sid Caesar and The Dick Van Dyke Show.  The list of his well known roles and movies is long and includes Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, The Producers, and serious films such as The Elephant Man.
