2010 PGA Championship: Matt Kuchar Holds 1-Shot Lead

| by SportsbookGurus

Fog has been one of the hot topics at Whistling Straits in this year’s PGA Championship. On Friday, play was delayed again as half the field had to wait until Saturday morning to finish their second round. Hopefully the weather will cooperate this weekend to insure a little stability in this year’s final major.

In a tournament that has showed so far that it is anyone’s to win, Matt Kuchar finds himself atop the leaderboard after he took the lead on his first hole after scoring a birdie. He had a second round of 69 which put him at 8-under for the tournament. He holds a one-stroke lead over Nick Watney.

“I’m very pleased with the way I’ve been playing,” Kuchar said. “I’m putting well, staying out of trouble.”

It is not sure when the second round will be completed on Saturday but one thing is for sure, this tournament is far from over. More bad weather is expected and many players in the field have an excellent shot of winning this year’s PGA Championship.

This judge looked an inmate square in the eyes and did something that left the entire courtroom in tears:

A former teammate of Kucher at Georgia Tech, Bryce Molder, has played well so far and he is among quite a few who sit at 5-under. Joining him are Jason Dufner, S.Y. Noh, Dustin Johnson, Simon Khan, Rory McIlroy and the 2007 Masters champion Zach Johnson.

Phil Mickelson managed to shoot a 69 on Friday as he once again tries to take over the No. 1 ranking in the world. He sits at 2-under for the tournament.

John Daly will not return to finish his second round on Saturday after notifying officials of a shoulder injury. But Tiger Woods seems to be showing a little of what we are used to seeing out of him. He will finish up his second round Saturday. Woods finished his first round at 1-under and and managed to get six holes in on Friday in which he made pars on all three. He once again was all over the course and needed to keep himself alive by saving pars from the cart path, out of grass up to his knees and from a grassy knoll.

Kuchar has his odds set at 4/1 to win the 2010 PGA Championship heading into the third round according to PGA sportsbooks. McIlroy has his set at 5/1 while Watney has his at 13/2.
